WATERLOO – SSIMWAVE, a Waterloo-based video quality solutions innovator, announced today it has launched Live Monitor support for SRT (secure reliable transport) protocol to optimize viewer streaming experiences.
“Live Monitor enables detection and measurement of viewer experiences in cloud-based transport,” according to a press release. “The SSIMWAVE innovation helps to fill a significant void in video experience monitoring that occurs during cloud-based distribution of streamed content. Live content in particular cannot be delivered in the cloud by many open source protocols without risk of packet loss, latency and other network-related issues.”
Live Monitor gives content providers and distributors that use SRT “unparalleled visibility into the health of cloud-delivered video and audio streams,” the press release reads. “Leveraging Live Monitor’s ability to proactively detect and correct video freezes, macroblocking and other issues, streaming services can ensure optimal viewer experiences.”
SSIMWAVE also announced today it has joined the SRT Alliance, an “open-source initiative dedicated to overcoming the challenges of low latency video streaming,” the press release says.
SSIMWAVE was founded in 2013 and is an Emmy award-winning tech startup that has pioneered analytic metrics and methods for measuring and monitoring video signals.
