IQALUIT – Following Saturday's launch of SSi Micro’s wireless service in Iqaluit, the company donated a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Qajukturvik Food Centre.
SSi’s donation of $1475 will help to cover the costs of over 700 meals for needy families in Iqaluit, reads the company's news release.
"We couldn't be happier," said SSi chief development officer Dean Proctor, in the release. "Iqalummiut have been waiting a long time for a quality and affordable mobile service, and especially – for the first time ever – one that works in all 25 communities. The turnout today speaks volumes!"
Voice and data roaming services are available for SSi Mobile customers throughout Nunavut, and retail SSi Mobile service will be available to customers in the 9 remaining communities by the end of the year. More information on SSi Mobile products and plans is available here.
