
TORONTO — With the NBA season set to tip off in a little more than a month’s time, Sportsnet and TSN announced their 2019-2020 broadcast schedules for the NBA champion Toronto Raptors’ regular season games.
Each of the broadcasters will air 41 of the Raptors’ regular season games, with some major differences in which key events of the season the two broadcasters have landed the rights to air on TV.
Sportsnet’s TV coverage of the Raptors’ regular season starts Tuesday, October 22, when Toronto hosts the New Orleans Pelicans on the NBA’s opening night. The network’s broadcast will also feature exclusive coverage of the NBA Championship banner raising and ring ceremony live from Scotiabank Arena.
Sportsnet will also deliver pre-season action live from the NBA Japan Games as the Raptors meet the Houston Rockers in Tokyo on October 8 and 10.
Other highlights from Sportsnet’s TV coverage of the 2019-2020 Raptors season include:
- Toronto’s first meeting with Kawhi Leonard in Los Angeles on November 11
- The Raptors first appearance in a marquee Christmas Day matchup, live from Toronto against the Boston Celtics
- Two matchups against DeMar DeRozan and the San Antonio Spurs
- Two meetings with Canadian rising star RJ Barrett and the New York Knicks
Sportsnet’s multiplatform coverage of the Toronto Raptors includes TV broadcasts on Sportsnet One, live streaming on Sportsnet Now, radio broadcasts on Sportsnet 590 The FAN and the Sportsnet Radio Network, and digital content on Sportsnet.ca and the Sportsnet app.
TSN’s regular season coverage will begin with the Raptors visiting the Boston Celtics on Friday, October 25.
Among the highlights of TSN’s TV coverage of the Raptors’ 2019-2020 regular season are the following:
- The return of Kawhi Leonard to Toronto, as the NBA Finals MVP plays his first game in Toronto on Wednesday, December 11, six months after leading the team to its first championship
- Both of the Raptors’ games against the Golden State Warriors, in a rematch of last season’s NBA finals
- Both meetings with the Los Angeles Lakers, featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis and former Raptor Danny Green
- The sixth annual Giants of Africa Game, celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela, on Thursday, December 5 against the Houston Rockets
- Canadian rookie sensation RJ Barrett’s first professional basketball game in Canada, as his New York Knicks visit the Raptors on Wednesday, November 27
