HAMILTON, ON – Source Cable is rolling out a new on-screen guide for high definition customers that includes alternative guide screens and recommendations, making it easier for viewers to locate shows, schedule their PVR, and bookmark their favorites.
In addition to enhancements in the traditional TV Listings guide, the new user interface, called TotalGuide, includes a channel guide, a mini guide, favorites and a ‘For You’ feature that provides recommendations on television shows and movies. Users may also read reviews, watch movie trailers, view celebrity photos and looks up cast details. The guide is provided by digital entertainment company Rovi.
“We believe our television customers will be very pleased with the look, feel and functionality of our new guide,” said Darryl Chandler, GM and VP of operations, in the news release. “We’re making these enhancements to our guide to take our customers into the new age of TV viewing, where the content we’re now offering deserves a new showcase. The new on-screen guide, TotalGuide and TotalGuide xD for tablets makes it easier to move between programs and actors, to find related content and discover new shows.”
Source said the roll-out is expected to be completed early this year.
