Sony Canada expands recycling program to include all of its products

TORONTO – Sony of Canada Ltd. said Tuesday it was expanding its recycling efforts to include all end-of-life Sony products from April 14.

“Sony Canada’s goal is to divert all Sony products from the landfill,” said Sony of Canada president and COO Doug Wilson. “Sony Canada will offer its customers three new ways to return their Sony products for recycling.”

The three ways are returning all can’t-be-used-anymore Sony products to one of 25 on-retail collection sites that will be opened across Canada, or dropping off handheld Sony electronics free of charge at any of the 79 Sony retail stores across Canada, or mailing in (shipping costs not covered) any Sony products for recycling.

A list of Sony collection sites that will open April 14 can be found at www.sony.ca/environment. A complete list of Sony Style retail stores is found at www.sonystyle.ca.

“We are proud to expand our recycling activities and continue the Sony tradition of leadership in environmental awareness and sustainability,” stated Wilson.

Sony has partnered with Global Electric Electronic Processing Inc. (GEEP) to expand its recycling program.
