OTTAWA – Bell Media Radio has promoted Evan Solomon to its first-ever national affairs specialist.
Effective immediately, this new appointment broadens Solomon’s current role as host and executive producer of Ottawa Now on Bell Media’s 580 CFRA News Talk Radio to include daily morning news hits on Bell Media Radio news/talk stations in Toronto, Montréal, and Ottawa, and weekly news hits across the company’s news/talk stations in Victoria and Kelowna, BC, as well as in Windsor, London, and St. Catharines in Ontario.
Additionally, Solomon (pictured) will host a regular syndicated weekend program called Real Talk that will air on Bell Media news/talk stations in Ontario, Québec, and B.C.
“We are delighted to solidify and expand Evan’s role as part of the Bell Media team,” said Randy Lennox, president, entertainment production and broadcasting, in Monday’s announcement. “As an accomplished journalist and broadcast talent, and with his finger firmly on the pulse of Canadian national affairs, Evan’s reach is now broadened to the millions of Bell Media’s news/talk radio listeners.”
A Canadian writer, magazine publisher, and radio-television journalist, Solomon hosted SiriusXM’s daily program Everything Is Political before joining Ottawa’s 580 CFRA in January. He also anchored CBC News Network’s daily political series Power & Politics and CBC Radio’s weekly program The House, and is a weekly contributor to Maclean’s.
