Gets worldwide distribution deal, too
TORONTO — Who Farted?, a comical and educational feature documentary from Albert Nerenberg (pictured) and Nik Sheehan, has secured a deal with world sales agency and distributor Syndicado for the documentary’s distribution outside of Canada.
The Canadian broadcast premiere of Who Farted? is scheduled for June 28 at 9 p.m. on CBC’s Documentary Channel. “From antiquity’s first fart joke to the ubiquitous whoopee cushion, the act of flatus both amuses and dismays… and now may contribute to civilization’s demise. Who Farted? is a frightening, illuminating, and funny journey through the absurd reality of 21st Century human survival,” reads the news release.
The climate change documentary is a collaboration between award-winning filmmakers Nerenberg (You Are What You Act, Laughology) and Sheehan (FlicKeR, No Sad Songs).
The distribution deal was negotiated between Syndicado’s Greg Rubidge in Toronto and Sheehan, president of Who Farted Movie Corporation in Vancouver, B.C. The film will be made available to all major networks in Europe, Asia, and the United States, and VOD platforms, says the release.
“Given the temerity and uncertainty of our zeitgeist,” says Syndicado’s Rubidge, “picking up this doc that uses humour to profile an otherwise serious global issue is a welcome addition to our slate and the market.”
