MONTREAL – Stingray said Thursday that Stingray Karaoke will join Sling TV’s offering in the U.S. just in time for the July 4th festivities.
All Sling TV users will be able to purchase unlimited access to the catalog of more than 10,000 karaoke songs for a monthly subscription of US$7 per month. Music genres include pop, country, standard and show tunes, country, R&B/hip-hop, and select Disney favourites, as well as dozen themed playlists like “Totally ‘80s,” “Disco Party,” and “Motown Classics”. New songs are added monthly.
To kick-off the launch, Stingray Karaoke will offer Sling Orange and/or Sling Blue subscribers a free five-song sampler of American music icons, including Garth Brooks, Tom Petty, Lee Greenwood, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Miley Cyrus. From July 9 to August 3, the free song sampler will switch to big ABBA hits, such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” and “Take a Chance on Me.”
“In the past year, the popularity of Stingray Karaoke has been crucial in substantially increasing the potential reach of our SVoD offering,” said Stingray president, co-founder, and CEO Eric Boyko, in the news release. “We are excited to be pursuing our growth with Sling TV, an innovative and forward-thinking streaming service that is ideally positioned to support our expansion in the SVoD space. With this launch, we prove once again that Stingray is trusted globally to deliver best-in-class music at an affordable price to the leading entertainment content providers.”
