TORONTO — Throughout the month of February, SiriusXM Canada is celebrating Black History Month with a wide variety of programming across its channels, with content ranging from music and talk to sports and comedy, the company announced today.
On the music side, the SiriusXM Takeover Series will be featured on the service’s The Verge, North Americana, Poplandia, CBC Country and Influence Franco channels. Music artists such as Kardinal Offishall, JoJo Mason, Densil McFarlane, The Black Pumas (above) and Dramatik will curate playlists featuring bands that have inspired them, in addition to sharing new and emerging Black artists with SiriusXM Canada listeners. These artists will also discuss their own song writing, collaborations and big career moments.
Running through March 1, additional Black History Month content in comedy, sports and talk programming will feature U.S.-born Black hockey goalie Gerald Coleman, Hal Johnson (of BodyBreak fame) and Canadian comedic icon Kenny Robinson, who will join SiriusXM to talk about their successful careers.
