
SiriusXM Canada announced Wednesday it will offer nationwide extensive coverage of the full 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) season, from Thursday’s official Opening Day through the postseason.
Subscribers will have access to live play-by-play calls of every game, as well as 24/7 news, talk and expert analysis on the exclusive MLB Network Radio channel (channel 89).
Former American League MVP Justin Morneau and veteran pitcher Trevor May have joined the team of hosts on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio channel this season. May will co-host Home Plate along with SiriusXM’s Dani Wexelman every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET, while Morneau will make regular appearances on various programs on the channel.
On the season’s opening day March 28, SiriusXM host and former New York Mets general manager Steve Phillips will join Wexelman as they broadcast live from Camden Yards, where the Baltimore Orioles will play the visiting Los Angeles Angels. SiriusXM’s coverage will start at 12 p.m. ET.
The SiriusXM app offers listeners 30 play-by-play channels dedicated to streaming the official radio broadcasts of every MLB team, giving fans a choice between the home and visiting team announcers for each game. All 30 channels are also available on vehicles equipped with SiriusXM with 360L radios.
In addition, SiriusXM’s new and improved app will feature a dedicated MLB page giving subscribers easy access to live and upcoming games, interviews, and content related to their favourite team.
The 24/7 MLB Network Radio channel’s roster of expert hosts includes former GMs Phillips, Jim Bowden and Jim Duquette, former players May, Morneau, David Aardsma, Kevin Frandsen, Chris Gimenez, Jensen Lewis, C.J. Nitkowski, Eduardo Perez, Xavier Scruggs, Ryan Spilborghs and Mike Stanton, former manager Kevin Kennedy, baseball writers Tyler Kepner and Jon Morosi, as well as Wexelman, Robert Brender, Jenny Cavnar, Mike Ferrin, Dan Graca, Jeff Joyce, Jim Memolo, Grant Paulsen and Ed Randall.
MLB Network Radio will also air Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo’s show, High Heat with Christopher Russo, weekday afternoons at 1 p.m. ET, as well as simulcasts of additional MLB Network television programming, including the flagship studio show MLB Tonight on weeknights at 7 p.m. ET.
Throughout the season, MLB Network Radio listeners will also be able to hear regularly scheduled interviews with several MLB managers, including Torey Lovullo (Arizona Diamondbacks), Bud Black (Colorado Rockies), Matt Quatraro (Kansas City Royals), Derek Shelton (Pittsburgh Pirates), Kevin Cash (Tampa Bay Rays), Alex Cora (Boston Red Sox), A.J. Hinch (Detroit Tigers), Pedro Grifol (Chicago White Sox), and others.
