SiriusXM adds Tirico, Strange, Melnyk, Whaley to Masters broadcast team


TORONTO — SiriusXM announced today the addition of several acclaimed voices from the golf world to its audio broadcast team for the upcoming 2022 Masters Tournament, being held April 7-10.

Veteran broadcaster Mike Tirico will be SiriusXM’s lead play-by-play voice for the tournament. Over the last 25 years, Tirico has covered many of golf’s major championships. He has hosted NBC’s premier golf events since 2016.

World Golf Hall of Fame member Curtis Strange and fellow former professional golfer Steve Melnyk will be the analysts for SiriusXM’s Masters coverage. Melnyk will be the lead analyst for the Thursday and Friday rounds, while Strange will be the lead analyst for the rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

Former LPGA golfer and PGA of America president Suzy Whaley is joining the SiriusXM broadcast team as an on-course reporter. She will also be the analyst for SiriusXM’s live coverage of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur tournament on Saturday, April 2.

Fred Albers, Mark Carnevale, Brian Katrek, John Maginnes, Chantel McCabe, Jim McLean, Carl Paulson, Jason Sobel and Taylor Zarzour will all contribute to SiriusXM’s broadcast across all four days of the tournament as hosts and reporters.

“The Masters is always one of the most anticipated events on the sports calendar, annually capturing the attention of not only golf fans, but the wider population of sports fans everywhere,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer, in a press release.

SiriusXM’s Masters Tournament broadcasts will be available to listeners nationwide on SiriusXM radio (channel 92) and on the SXM App.
