TORONTO – One of Canada’s digital media trailblazers, Gerri Sinclair, has been named as a special advisor on digital media at Toronto’s Ryerson University, and a distinguished visiting professor for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Sinclair’s cross-domain career spans business, education and government policy. She will work with students, faculty, researchers and senior management at Ryerson to advance the university’s emerging position as a leader in digital media innovation and commercialization.
“Ryerson’s approach to digital media is unique, and responds directly to the need for a powerful digital economy strategy in Canada”, Sinclair said in a statement. “At the Digital Media Zone, the university is fostering the natural entrepreneurial spirit of students and young people and helping them bring their ideas quickly to market.
Across the university, researchers are developing new models of market-driven, transdisciplinary collaboration. It’s a very exciting time to be working with Ryerson, and I look forward to making a contribution.”
