Sheriff moves into Aliant's CEO office

HALIFAX - Bell Aliant today announced Karen Sheriff has been appointed president and CEO as of Monday. She is currently COO of the eastern Canada and rural Quebec and Ontario telco and will succeed Stephen Wetmore, who in July 2008 announced his intention to step down. Sheriff is a director of Bell Aliant and has served in that capacity, and as a director of its predecessor company, Aliant, since 2004.
