PENTICTON, BC – Shaw Communications is partnering with The City of Penticton to offer Shaw Go WiFi service to both residents and Shaw customers in the city.
The five-year non-exclusive deal will see the Shaw Go WiFi service made publicly available in key City locations, including City Hall, several city parks and other public amenities. The public WiFi network was identified in the ‘Downtown Plan’ among the top priorities of Penticton residents and businesses for creating economic activity.
"We are excited to bring Shaw Go WiFi service to Penticton in some of the City's most popular facilities," said Ron McKenzie, Shaw’s VP of operations, in the news release. “Extending Canada's largest WiFi network to Penticton will offer Shaw customers even greater connectivity and access to their favourite content through a fast and seamless broadband experience."
"This WiFi agreement will increase Penticton's link to the world, fostering more local innovation and economic opportunity," added Penticton Mayor Garry Litke. "People on the go want to enjoy convenient connection to the Internet with their wireless-enabled devices throughout the City. They asked and we have delivered."
