Shaw launches new broadband packages

CALGARY – Shaw officially unveiled its new broadband plans Tuesday after announcing last month that it planned to boost its bit caps.

The company is offering two new Internet packaging and pricing options. The first allows customers to keep their existing Internet packages and receive higher data levels at no extra charge. For example, customers with Shaw High Speed Internet will see their monthly data levels increase from 60 GB to 125 GB per month.

The second includes new broadband packages for customers who require greater data levels, and can be subscribed to on their own or bundled with phone or television service.  For example, the Broadband 50 offers 50 Mbps speed and 400 GB of data levels is available at a standalone price of $74.90 per month or $84.90 per month with the Shaw Plan Personalizer.

The new packages were created after the company listened to hundreds of its customers during 34 in-person consultations and on-line submissions earlier this year.

"Our customers told us they wanted to share their ideas when it came to our Internet product – and we’re proud to launch a model that is transparent, offers more speed and data level choices and is fair for customers," said president Peter Bissonnette, in the announcement. "The new packages are part of our commitment to provide customers with an unbelievable Internet experience now and well into the future."
