Seven more HiFi licenses

TORONTO – All high-definition content provider, High Fidelity HDTV, now has seven more channels to launch.

The CRTC granted High Fidelity seven new HD licence approvals, which will enable the company to offer the rapidly growing number of Canadian HD viewers additional smart, refreshing, and beautiful HD programming choices. The company already offers such channels as Rush HD, Oasis HD, Treasure HD and Equator HD.

“We are very pleased that the CRTC has granted these seven new licence approvals”, said David Patterson, senior vice-president, High Fidelity HDTV.

High Fidelity, an independent broadcaster, brings innovative and all-original HD programming to Canadian viewers, and will continue to do so via the seven new HD licence approvals granted, said the company. The new licenses are:

Aqua HD is devoted to the theme of water and life in, on, and around bodies of water, including boating and high-octane water adventure. Crafts & Hobbies HD will be fun, friendly and sometimes frilly, a channel for the millions of Canadian craftspeople and hobbyists and their world. Seniors Life HD will be for those at the leading edge of the largest Canadian demographic: the boomers, enriching the lifestyles of people aged 50 and more.

Eureka! HD will explore issues related to science and technology. Centre Stage HD will bring Canadians the best in musical performing arts from around the corner and around the world, featuring full-length concerts, festivals and performances. Women’s Sports HD will be devoted to sports programs and physical fitness programs that feature female athletes or participants or are of particular interest to Canadian women.
