MONTREAL – Canadian social TV audience measurement service Seevibes is expanding to Europe after acquiring French social TV measurement firm TvTweet. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in Bordeaux in 2011, TvTweet is already present in seven European countries, covering more than 100 media, and working with industry names that include Orange, TF1 and NRJ12. Seevibes said Monday that it will soon open an office in France to jump-start its development in Europe.
With a database of several thousand TV shows and 500 top brands, Seevibes measures and analyzes television’s social media audience for advertisers and broadcasters so they can better understand and transform audience engagement. Canadian clients include Quebecor Media, V Interactions, Radio-Canada, CBC and Bell Media.
"The main goal for Seevibes is to help the media to better monetize the social network audience. To support this, we've created a standard of measurement that has already been proven in Canada among the biggest players in the industry," said president and CEO Laurent Maisonnave, in the announcement.
"With the acquisition of France's TvTweet, Seevibes becomes a major player in Europe and the only one to offer a complete solution, both in real-time TV show analysis and in performance and audience profiling”, added Thomas Landspurg, TvTweet founder and new director of technology with Seevibes. “This is a great entry point for addressing countries looking for monetization and ad targeting solutions for social TV."
