Telus International expands to India with Xavient acquisition

TORONTO and SIMI VALLEY, CA – Telus International is buying U.S.-based global IT consulting and software services company Xavient Information Systems for approximately US$250 million, the companies said Monday.  The Telus subsidiary is a global business process and IT services company with almost 28,000 employees around the world, including in Canada, the United States, Europe, Central America, the Philippines and the United Kingdom. Feds hang up on 80,000 landlines in $176M VoIP contract with Telus

OTTAWA – Telus has won a seven-year, $176 million contract from the federal government to upgrade its communications services to include Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone, instant messaging, and desktop videoconferencing. Telus adds YouTube to Optik TV

VANCOUVER – Telus customers now have access to YouTube’s HD and 4K videos on their home’s biggest screen after the app was added to Optik TV 4K set-top boxes. Telus isn’t worried about Shaw bundles

MONTREAL – After getting into wireless last year with the purchase of Wind (now Freedom) Mobile, many expect Shaw to soon start offering wireline/wireless bundles in the west just as Telus, its biggest competitor, already offers. Telus inches closer to 1 Gb wireless speeds

VANCOUVER – Telus hit wireless speeds of nearly 1 Gbps in its downtown Vancouver 5G Living Lab last week, the company announced Wednesday.
