MediaSmarts and Telus Wise launch campaign for Safer Internet Day

OTTAWA and VANCOUVER — As today is Safer Internet Day, MediaSmarts and Telus Wise have teamed up to launch a series of videos and resources aimed at stopping young people from sharing intimate images of others without their consent. The “There’s No Excuse” campaign includes a series of four short videos aimed at young people ages 14 and up. Telus completes call centre acquisition

VANCOUVER — Telus International has finalized its $1.3 billion acquisition of Competence Call Center (CCC), which was announced in December. CCC is now wholly owned by Telus International. According to the news release issued by Telus today, the merger adds significant scale, growth and diversity to Telus International and helps to expand its European presence, operations and client base. OTTAWA — Somebody owes Telus some money. Maybe it’s Rogers and Bell. Or it could be the consumer groups l’Union des consommateurs and (to a lesser extent) the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC). Telus Ventures invests in smart traffic management company

KITCHENER — Telus Ventures is heading up a $120-million minority investment in Miovision, a Kitchener, Ont.-based company that uses computer vision, artificial intelligence and advanced modelling to offer cities a modernized approach to traffic management. Telus takes over TV and Internet service on Haida Gwaii

HAIDA GWAII — Telus will become the sole provider of TV and Internet services on Haida Gwaii after the recent acquisition of a local service provider, according to a report in the Haida Gwaii Observer on Monday. Telus launches hayu app on Optik TV

TORONTO — Telus is adding a dedicated hayu app to its Optik TV service interface to enable its Western Canada customers to easily access NBCUniversal International’s all-reality subscription video-on-demand service.
