MediaSmarts and Telus Wise launch campaign for Safer Internet Day

OTTAWA and VANCOUVER — As today is Safer Internet Day, MediaSmarts and Telus Wise have teamed up to launch a series of videos and resources aimed at stopping young people from sharing intimate images of others without their consent. The “There’s No Excuse” campaign includes a series of four short videos aimed at young people ages 14 and up. Follow-up proceedings coming for small ILECs and Northwestel OTTAWA — The CRTC issued two decisions Tuesday related to the phasing out of the local telephone service subsidy and the Commission’s associated review of the price cap and local forbearance regimes for Canada’s large incumbent local exchange carriers (Bell, Telus and SaskTel). ECG launches TV Asia channel in Canada

Telus completes call centre acquisition

VANCOUVER — Telus International has finalized its $1.3 billion acquisition of Competence Call Center (CCC), which was announced in December. CCC is now wholly owned by Telus International. Internet code now in place, including sign language videos

GATINEAU – On Friday, the CRTC’s Internet Code of conduct officially came into force, which is aimed at giving Canadians additional safeguards when dealing with their internet service providers. KITCHENER — Telus Ventures is heading up a $120-million minority investment in Miovision, a Kitchener, Ont.-based company that uses computer vision, artificial intelligence and advanced modelling to offer cities a modernized approach to traffic management.
