TORONTO and MONTREAL – Look Communications and its parent company Unique Broadband Systems said Thursday that the actions of Rogers Communications and Bell Canada Enterprises are interfering with the planned sale of Look.

TORONTO – Rogers Sportsnet and Rogers Wireless have announced a three-year agreement with the National Hockey League for the distribution of game highlights both on sportsnet.ca and on Rogers Wireless devices.

VANCOUVER – John Munro, who retired as Rogers Cable’s chief marketing officer in 2006, died of a heart attack at his home in the Vancouver area on April 4th. He was 59.
In his last position at Rogers, Munro (pictured) was responsible for the day-to-day product management and the national marketing communications function, including advertising of all Rogers Cable products, all support marketing material and customer communications.

TORONTO – Aivy Reinfelds has been promoted to vice-president television development and distribution at Rogers Media, taking over from Julie Osborne, who moved on to become associate publisher of another Rogers property, Maclean’s magazine.
The company altered the job somewhat since Osborne’s title was SVP affiliate sales and marketing, meaning Reinfelds will also be responsible for developing new TV concepts as well as his distribution role.
Reinfelds (pictured) begins his new position May 1st and no one has yet been named to take his place where he had been senior director, programming.

TORONTO – The CBC has acquired the broadcast rights, including video streaming, to Toronto FC, Canada’s first Major League Soccer (MSL) club, it was announced Wednesday.
CBC Television will broadcast 14 regular season Toronto FC games, including the expansion franchise’s April 28 home opener against the Kansas City Wizards, while cbcsports.ca will video stream all of the CBC broadcasts live and on-demand.
