TORONTO – Joe Natale is out as CEO of Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI) effective immediately, RCI announced Tuesday night.

VANCOUVER — Rogers Communications and the University of British Columbia (UBC) announced today they are renewing their 5G research partnership for an additional four years.
This new $4.8-million partnership for 5G research and development projects “will challenge researchers at UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses and Rogers to develop, explore and test new made-in-Canada 5G capabilities in areas such as wildfire management, human teleoperations and emergency response that will help save lives and support the province,” reads a press release.

GATINEAU – The CRTC has officially denied the Public Interest Advocacy Centre and National Pensioners Federation’s (PIAC-NPF) procedural request to delay the hearing into the broadcast side of the deal between Rogers and Shaw.
PIAC-NPF had requested the hearing be delayed because of uncertainty around who was on the company’s board of directors, which arose when Edward Rogers, as chair of the Rogers Control Trust, decided to change five directors by written resolution – a move the company said was not valid. VANCOUVER – Rogers Group of Funds and Creative BC today announced plans for a $1 million fund to support Indigenous creators in British Columbia.
The purpose of the fund is to “help increase access and representation for Indigenous producers and Indigenous-led production companies in B.C.’s domestic motion picture industry,” a press release says.
