REDMOND, Wash., and LOUISVILLE, Colo. – An agreement announced Wednesday between Microsoft and CableLabs means Microsoft’s dream of easily delivering high-quality TV signals to PCs is right around the corner.

HALIFAX – EastLink and its employees helped raise $4,000 for the Sébastien Savage fund during the broadcast of a fundraising game played in honour of the injured Moncton Aigles Bleus hockey player.
He was left paralyzed in his upper and lower extremities after an accident during a game on October 22.

HALIFAX – EastLink Television pre-empted its Wednesday evening broadcast schedule to carry a fundraising game played in honour of Sébastien Savage. The Moncton Aigles Bleus hockey player was left paralyzed in his upper and lower extremities after an accident during a game on October 22.

SAINT JOHN – Aliant president and CEO Jay Forbes told financial analysts on Friday that he’s holding out hope that the CRTC will see it their way when it comes to forbearing from regulating its local telephony markets.

GRAVENHURST, Ont. – The Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association drew a crowd while handing out its annual Galaxi Awards this afternoon at the Taboo Resort in Gravenhurst, Ont.
The presentation kicks off Cable Week at the golf resort which continues for the next two days.

QUEBEC CITY – Cogeco Inc. CEO Louis Audet said Thursday that the time has come for the company’s cable division to revisit offering wireless service to its customers.
