HALIFAX – The Halifax Regional Municipality has chosen EastLink to provide high speed internet service to the small communities of West Dover and Peggy’s Cove.
EastLink is investing $125,000 in each of the communities to support the project, while HRM is providing project management services with funding support from the Government of Canada and the Province of Nova Scotia. The service will be available by early Winter 2007.
With the launch of high speed Internet, residents and businesses will have the opportunity to select the service that best suits their needs.

HALIFAX – The EastLink 5cents Canada/U.S. Anytime Calling Long Distance plan was launched today by the east coast-based cableco.
The new plan will provide EastLink telephone customers with a nickel long distance calling to anywhere within Canada or the U.S. anytime of the day.

OTTAWA – The CRTC has approved the transfer of Persona Communications Corp., and its subsidiary Northern Cablevision, to Bragg Communications, the parent company of EastLink, effectively doubling Bragg’s size and allowing it to extend its cable and telephony interests from the East Coast to the West.
The Commission said it did not receive any interventions against the proposed sale, and so concluded the deal “would be in the public interest”.
