TORONTO – Praise was near universal for the brand new Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers Canadian Summit, which wrapped up Wednesday afternoon at the Toronto Congress Centre.
The final registration number for delegates has not yet been tallied as there were a large number who registered on site, but the show was very well attended with delegates from across Canada – from the Territories to Regina to Newfoundland – and all points in between.

HALIFAX – EastLink has added the World Fishing Network to their on demand platform for digital cable customers.
The network is dedicated to angling and sport fishing industry with programming that covers instruction, tips, tournaments, boating and conservation.

TORONTO – With the privatization of Bell Canada looking like it’s dead, what with the release last week that KPMG can’t deliver a positive opinion on the solvency of the big telco post-deal, speculation has run rampant that Telus might still be interested in merging with Bell.

TORONTO – Despite the wild, scary ride the global economy has been taking us all on this year, wireless newcomer Globalive is well-financed and going full speed ahead, said its CEO, Anthony Lacavera, an investors conference in Toronto last week.
