EastLink adds Playhouse Disney

‘Dino Dan’ wins 2010 Shaw Rocket Prize

OTTAWA – Canadian children’s series Dino Dan has been named the winner of the 2010 Shaw Rocket Prize. Produced by Toronto-based Sinking Ship Entertainment, the show stars Jason Spevack as Dan Henderson, a 10-year-old boy with an obsession for dinosaurs.  It airs in Canada on TVO, Knowledge Network and Access, plus recently debuted in the U.S. on MTV Networks-owned Nick Jr. Producers J.J. 700 MHz melee brewing; auction will be “wide open” predicts Bell’s Cope

Obligation to Serve: Bell Aliant threatens to cut off services if the subsidy isn’t fixed

GATINEAU – Bell Aliant Regional Communications says that if the obligation to serve subsidy regime isn’t fixed, it may have no choice but to cut off certain services to some of its most costly markets. The revelation came under questioning from CRTC chair Konrad von Finckenstein when he asked Bell Aliant executives what the company would do if the Commission didn’t accede to its wishes and change the local subsidy regime. 2500 MHz Auction: Industry Canada could lose up to $200 million under swap proposal, says Telus

OTTAWA – Telus is telling Industry Canada that it stands to lose as much as $200 million in an auction of the 2500 MHz bandwidth if the current spectrum swap proposal remains unchanged. The company’s comments come as verbal sparring over the specific rules for transitioning wireless broadband spectrum in the band continued this month with interested parties arguing over transition deadlines and the amount of spectrum to be given back to Industry Canada for auction. Sportsnet One signs Bell TV, EastLink

TORONTO – Just in time for the start of hockey season, Rogers Sportsnet One has added two new major BDUs to its roster.
