Develop Nova Scotia announces Eastlink, Bell to connect more Nova Scotians to high-speed Internet

Federal cabinet denies appeal in CRTC MVNO decision (with update)

Updated with comment from petitioner, dotmobile.  OTTAWA — The federal cabinet has denied a petition today to overturn a decision by the CRTC that only allowed a limited group of wireless service providers to force negotiations to use national telecom facilities, saying it believes the decision will provide consumers with greater choice and bring down prices. As Cartt.ca reported last month, many Canadian telecoms chose to waive fees for calls and texts from Canada to Ukraine, with several stating they intended to do so until the end of this month. Videotron signs CN Media Services as exclusive ‘local avails’ sales agent

MARKHAM, Ont. — CN Media Services, a division of Markham, Ont.-based Capital Networks Limited, announced last week it is now the exclusive “local avails” sales agent for Videotron. “The term ‘Local Avails’ refers to the approximately two minutes of television commercial time per hour set aside in the programming of certain U.S. cable/satellite channels including CNN, CNBC, AMC, HLN, NFL Network and more,” explains a press release.
