Cogeco revamps senior executive team at Peer 1 Hosting subsidiary

MONTREAL – Gary Sherlock has resigned from his duties as president and CEO of Cogeco Cable’s wholly-owned subsidiary Peer 1 Hosting to pursue other opportunities, Cogeco announced Wednesday. Cogeco sees Q2 revenue, profits rise

MONTREAL – Cogeco’s nascent U.S. acquisitions helped to offset weak Canadian results for the second quarter of 2014. Revenue for the period ended February 28, 2014 increased by 13.1% ($60.0 million) to $518.5 million, driven by the cable segment, mainly as a result of the full quarter impact of the acquisition of Peer 1 Hosting, combined with favorable foreign exchange rates and organic growth from all operating units. CRTC extends deadline for emergency alerting-related rule changes input

OTTAWA – The CRTC has pushed back the deadline for comments on amendments to certain rules pertaining to the implementation of the national emergency alerting system. After calling for feedback last month due March 31, the Commission said Tuesday that the deadline for receipt of comments has been extended to April 17, 2014. The move comes at the behest of BCE, Cogeco Cable, Corus Entertainment, Newcap, Quebecor Media, Rogers Media, Shaw Communications, and Vista Radio which sent a joint letter to the Commission requesting the extension to provide comments in the proceeding.
