CCSA signs deal for One Caribbean Television

BDU Renewals: Providing set-top box viewer data now a condition of licence, CRTC says

OTTAWA — Canada’s largest, vertically integrated BDUs have a little over a year to start providing set-top box data to a national STB-based audience measurement system — a new condition of licence imposed by the CRTC when it announced August 2 the collective renewal of soon-to-expire licences for various terrestrial BDUs. One America News signs distribution deal with CCSA

SAN DIEGO — Conservative news channel One America News Network is a step closer to being carried in Canada, after parent company Herring Networks recently concluded a distribution agreement with the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance (CCSA). The master distribution agreement also includes Herring’s high-end lifestyle channel, A Wealth of Entertainment (AWE). Earlier this year in May, both One America News (OAN) and AWE received authorization for distribution in Canada from the CRTC, allowing Herring Networks to pursue distribution deals with BDUs across the country. CCSA Connect conference delegate registration is now open

QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – The Canadian Communication Systems Alliance has announced delegates can now register for its September Connect conference. ISPs pledge allegiance to Feds’ low-cost broadband initiative Connecting Families

TORONTO – Rogers, Telus and SaskTel were quick to endorse Connecting Families, the new initiative designed to help make the Internet affordable to low income Canadians, announced Wednesday by Innovation, Science and Economic Development minister Navdeep Bains at the Canadian Telecom Summit. Connecting Families will invest $13.2 million over five years, starting in 2017-2018.  For $10 per month, up to 220,000 qualifying households will receive an Internet package of no less than 10 Mbps download speeds (or the fastest available) and a minimum of 100 GB of data usage each month, with no equipment or installation fees.  Families must… Continue Reading

CCSA unveils 2018 Tuned-In Canada winners

QUISPAMSIS, NB – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance has announced the winners of its Tuned-in Canada: The CCSA Awards, a national, annual competition that highlights the great work done by independent, local providers of broadband, television and telephone services across Canada. Winners in each category were determined in two ways: 1) by the most votes received, and 2) by the most votes received per capita subscribers. CCSA makes rebrand official

It’s now the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – The Canadian Cable Systems Alliance today made official the association’s rebrand to the ‘Canadian Communication Systems Alliance’, replacing the word ‘Cable’ in its company name.
