TORONTO – The Ontario Chapter of SCTE has grown to over 550 members since it’s inception in mid-2003.
Of course, strong leadership is critical to ensuring the continued success of the chapter.
The bylaws require six board members, elected for two-year terms, with three board members replaced each year in order to provide continuity. John Anderson, Boris Eventov and Bruce Marshall have reached the end of their terms.
Laura O’Hare, Charlie Elliott and Lawrence Watson will remain on the board through 2008.
The group is now seeking nominations for the Ontario SCTE Board of Directors. All current Ontario SCTE members can nominate candidates for the Board. Nominees do not necessarily need to be current members, but they must join and maintain SCTE membership during their two-year term of office.
The position requires several hours of commitment each month, with a monthly board meeting, and the planning and organizing of quarterly general meetings and seminars. This is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate leadership abilities and lead a very dynamic organization. We are also looking for a good mix of both system operators and vendors.
Nomination forms must be submitted via fax or email by Friday, November 2. For more information, go to www.scte-ontario.com.
The election will be held from November 19 to December 7, and all current SCTE members will be eligible to vote. This will be a web election and members will be notified of the procedure prior to Nov. 19.
The new board members will take office effective Jan.1, 2008.
