SCTE Ontario chapter calls for board director nominations

BRAMPTON, ON — The Ontario chapter of SCTE is calling for nominations for its board of directors as half of its board members are scheduled to reach the end of their terms at the end of the year.

SCTE Ontario president John Triassi, secretary Scott McPhail, and board members Andrew Laframboise and Mario Massi will reach the end of their two-year terms on December 31, 2019. Remaining on the board until the end of 2020 are SCTE Ontario vice-president Jason Lowe, treasurer Steve Torres, and board members Bob Grant and Chris Skarica.

The responsibilities and requirements of SCTE Ontario board members include:

  • Attend chapter technical sessions and board meetings — two to three technical training sessions & vendor table top, monthly board meetings and one golf outing
  • Help with the planning of upcoming events
  • Total time commitment of approximately 20 hours (quarterly)
  • The term of a board director is two years — starting January 1, 2020
  • Candidates should be an active national member of the SCTE and the Ontario chapter

All nominees are required to provide a brief biography including their company, current position, brief job description, years in the industry and any additional comments. To see a sample of a nominee biography, click here.

Nominations are due November 29 and biographies with photos are required by December 5. Nomination submissions should include the nominee’s full name, phone number and email address. To submit a nomination, email scteontariochapter@gmail.com.

Chapter membership voting will be held December 9-18, with the results to be released by December 20.
