EXTON, PA – Some of the latest products in cable’s "competitive arsenal" will be showcased when the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) hosts its annual Technology Challenge at the SCTE Canadian Summit in Toronto next month.
Alcatel-Lucent, Aurora Networks, Genband, Juniper Networks and SeaChange International will demonstrate a variety of approaches designed to expand the capabilities of cable network architectures to reach new platforms and deliver new services. Using mobile text messaging, attendees will be able to vote for one of the five solutions as the ‘Technology Most Likely to Succeed’. The winner will be announced during that day’s luncheon.
“The vast diversity of devices on the market is creating new ways for cable to connect with its customers,” said Bruce Bondar, VP of engineering for Access Communications and co-chair of the Technology Challenge, in a statement. “This year’s Technology Challenge brings together companies who have shown outstanding spirit of innovation to help the industry to cost-effectively deliver the new services that customers are demanding.”
The SCTE Canadian Summit, set for March 8 – 9 at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto, is geared toward an international audience of engineering professionals and will examine the impact of integrating new technologies into existing cable infrastructures.
