EXTON, PA – Alcatel-Lucent, Aurora Networks, Metaswitch Networks, NDS and RGB Networks have been selected as finalists for the annual technology challenge next month at the SCTE Canadian Summit in Toronto.
The five companies will demonstrate a variety of innovative approaches that are designed to provide cable system operators and content providers with new solutions for managing and delivering content and services across multiple devices, as well as ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Using mobile text messaging, attendees will be able to vote for one of the five solutions as the ‘Technology Most Likely to Succeed’, and the winner will be announced during the luncheon later that day.
– Alcatel-Lucent will show how its motive home network management and support solution can provide cable operators and their subscribers with enhanced visibility and control of the multi-user, multi-device, content rich home – enhancing customer experience, improving call center efficiency, and helping cable operators deliver differentiated, higher-quality services and support to consumers;
– Aurora Networks will demonstrate how its node-based Remote QAM module can deliver any mix of services – including broadcast, narrowcast, cable, IPTV and DOCSIS – in the same QAM channel, enabling operators to dynamically tailor services to local demands;
– Metaswitch will show how its mobile content sharing solutions can enable the accelerated deployment of an expanded array of communications services that can differentiate cable system operators’ service bundles in a competitive environment;
– NDS will showcase its VideoGuard Connect digital rights management-based (DRM) solution for multi-platform pay-TV that provides content and service protection within a single, unified system designed to support multiple DRMs; and
– RGB Networks will demonstrate how its just-in-time packaging feature increases adaptive streaming capabilities for VOD and nPVR by allowing operators to store a single ‘mezzanine’ format of content, and to deliver that content to any device only when requested by the client.
The SCTE Canadian Summit is scheduled for March 27-28, and this year will be preceded by the Wireless Symposium on March 26. Both events will be held at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto.
