EXTON, PA – The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced today it’s seeking proposals for technical workshops that will be offered during Cable-Tec Expo 2006, which is set for Tuesday through Friday, June 20-23 in Denver, Colorado.
Cable-Tec Expo technical paper proposals must be submitted to SCTE by Friday, Jan. 20, 2006.
While proposals covering any topic will be considered, proposals addressing the specific topics listed below will be given priority:
* Commercial offerings
* Best practices to improve network performance without negatively impacting the customer
* Network-based session resource management
* Interactive television
* Fixed mobile convergence
* Switched digital video
* Converged metro, regional and national backbone network architectures
* Digital technology and evolution
* Video on demand
Details for the above topics are outlined in the call for papers, which is located in the Event Calendar section of www.scte.org.
Interested participants should submit their one-to-two-page proposals (no more than 600 words) in abstract form and include topic heading, paper title, name of author/presenter, company, mailing address, telephone/fax numbers and e-mail address. Previously published papers and product-specific presentations will not be accepted.

The 2006 Cable-Tec Expo Program Subcommittee, chaired by Christopher Bowick, senior vice-president, engineering and CTO with Cox Communications, will announce selected presentations by Friday, Feb. 24, 2006.
