EXTON, PA – The SCTE today announced the selection of its five appointed and eight elected members of the Board of Directors for the upcoming 2012-13 term.
The SCTE Board comprises seven appointed directors, each of whom serves a two-year term, and eight regional directors, who are elected for one-year terms. The eight regional directors are selected from and elected by SCTE’s 13 regional representatives, each of whom acts on behalf of an SCTE region.
For both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 terms, Mike LaJoie, executive vice president and CTO of Time Warner Cable and Chairman of the current 2011-’12 SCTE Board, has been newly reappointed as a director. Also appointed have been four newcomers to the board: Ralph Brown, CTO of CableLabs; Pat Crull, group vice president and CLO of Time Warner Cable; Jim Hughes, senior vice president, Global Broadband Sales for CommScope; and Martha Soehren, senior vice president and CLO for Comcast University and Comcast Cable.

The eight elected directors for the 2012-13 Board term are:
• David Haigh, lead engineer, Midcontinent Communications;
• Tommy Hill, director of Area Operations, Mediacom Communications;
• Roger Hughes, senior engineer, Armstrong Cable Services;
• Joe Jensen, executive vice president and CTO, Buckeye Cablevision;
• Bob Legg, vice president, Technical Operations, Suddenlink Communications;
• Ed Marchetti, vice president, Engineering/Operations, Comcast Cable;
• Nick Segura, manager, Network Operations, Charter Communications; and
• Rick Sullivan, Midwestern Sales account manager, Times Fiber Communications/Amphenol.
Hill, Hughes, Jensen, Legg, and Sullivan serve on the current 2011-’12 SCTE Board of Directors. Two other board members, Terry Cordova, senior vice president and CTO of Suddenlink Communications and current Vice Chairman of the SCTE Board, and Patrick O’Hare, senior vice president of Field Operations for Comcast, will be serving the second year of their two-year appointments during 2012-13.
The 2012-13 board will meet for the first time and will elect officers on Tuesday, Oct. 16 in conjunction with SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012. Expo will begin with pre-conference sessions and a companion event, the Digital Home Symposium, on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and continue Wednesday to Friday, Oct. 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
