TORONTO – Crediting an increase in its fan base, Score Media reported second quarter financials in the black, reversing a net loss from the same period last year.
Profits for the quarter ended February 28, 2011 were $200,000, compared to a net loss of $200,000 year-over-year. Revenues for the quarter were $11.1 million, up 11% to from $10 million last year, while EBITDA increased by $100,000 to $1.1 million.
The sports media company also said that its digital properties generated “record traffic” this quarter, including a record high 2.4 million unique visitors to ScoreMobile, ScoreMobile FC and theScore iPad Edition. Its site theScore.com garnered 1.4 million monthly unique visitors, up 124% over January 2010.
"Our results from this past quarter demonstrated continued growth across the company," said chairman and CEO John Levy, in a statement. "Our fan base increased and our team is working hard behind the scenes preparing for some exciting new launches across all of our platforms in the coming months."
