Score adds World Cup reality series to coverage

TORONTO – Score Media has added an interesting and entertaining side bar to its coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Its sports channel The Score has signed on as the Canadian broadcaster of Bud House, a new on-line reality series where 32 passionate soccer fans from each of the World Cup qualifying countries live together in a house in Cape Town, South Africa during the event. But when their team is eliminated, so are their chances of winning the grand prize – attending the final match and presenting the ‘Budweiser Man Of The Match’ trophy to the winning player.

The show is produced by Ridley Scott Productions, in association with Budweiser, the “official beer” of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.  Although Canada is not participating in the World Cup, Canadian soccer fan ‘Dan’ is acting as the house bartender and “the neutral go-to guy” as the competitors live through the drama of the World Cup.

The Score is airing daily footage from the show, and each episode also appears on its website theScore.com. Click here to tune in.

“We have a great relationship with Budweiser and when they came to us with the Bud House program, we both knew The Score was the right media partner for this type of FIFA World Cup programming,” said Greg Sansone, VP of television for Score Media, in the announcement. “We’re pleased to offer it to our audience.”
