SaskTel unveils new fibre optic network

REGINA – SaskTel has launched its new Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) program, known as infiNET, with a goal of passing 40,000 homes by the end of this year.   The seven-year, $670 million dollar investment will deploy fibre directly to homes and upgrade the broadband network in the province’s nine largest urban centers - Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Weyburn, Estevan, Swift Current, Yorkton, North Battleford and Prince Albert.  Work is already underway in both Regina and Saskatoon.   Once connected, InfiNET will allow customers to experience Internet speeds of up to 200 Mbps for downloading and 60 Mbps for...
