Sasktel, Unifor ratify new collective agreement

REGINA – SaskTel said late Thursday that Unifor has voted in favour of ratifying a new three year collective agreement after its current collective agreement expired March 12, 2016.

The new agreement will be for a three-year term ending March 16, 2019.  Highlights include:

– Retroactive to March 13, 2016, all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 1.75%;
– Effective March 19, 2017, all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 1.65%;
– Effective March 18, 2018, all hourly rates of pay shall be increased by 1.20%;
– Retroactive to March 13, 2016, employer contributions to the Public Employee’s Pension Plan (PEPP) will increase to 7.45% and employee contributions will increase to 4.45%; and
– Employees on wage maintenance as a result of Job Evaluation will receive the full wage increase(s).
