SaskTel to invest over $1.4B across Saskatchewan through 2022

REGINA – SaskTel will invest more than $1.4 billion in capital in Saskatchewan over the next five years, including $302 million in this fiscal year.

The investment will ensure that SaskTel customers in the province continue to receive top notch wireless, television, Internet, data, and IP-based technologies and services, the company said Friday.

Highlights of this year’s core Saskatchewan investment program include:

– invest $56.5 million in its Fibre to the Premises Program (FTTP);

– invest $41.7 million for wireless network enhancements, including WiFi expansion and Long Term Evolution – Time Division Duplex (LTE-TDD) Fusion capacity enhancements;

– invest $89.1 million on several initiatives to meet wireline network growth, such as network modernization and access and core demand and growth;

– invest $114.6 million to improve customer services through new IT platforms and service enhancements.
