REGINA – SaskTel is predicting that customers will place over a million long distance calls this Sunday, for the tenth consecutive Mother’s Day, making it one of the busiest calling days of the year.
Busier than both Father’s Day and Christmas Day, SaskTel projects that 45% of the Mother’s Day long distance calls will be to Saskatchewan locations, 52% will be to Canadian destinations outside of Saskatchewan, while about 3% of the calls will go to the United States and to overseas destinations.
In order to minimize delays or busy signals, the company is recommending that its customers avoid calling between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, or between 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM on Mother’s Day, and place direct-dialed calls instead of operator-assisted calls.
