REGINA – SaskTel has rolled out its High Speed Fusion Internet service to new customers at 13 more sites in the province.
The company said this week that High Speed Fusion, a fixed wireless LTE-TDD service, is now available to new subscribers being serviced from tower locations in Annaheim, Prince Albert, Orkney, Lemberg, Kinistino, Eatonia, Peebles, Hafford, Hirsch, Neilburg, Viscount, Beechy, and Dysart. Further deployment in the remaining 42 locations that were previously served by WBBI (Wireless Broadband Internet) will be announced by the end of the year.
The service will be available for $79.95 per month and will offer download speeds of up to 5 Mbps. SaskTel said that its High Speed Fusion Internet service is the recommended Internet choice for customers in the listed locations, however customers can still choose its satellite Internet service or 4G mobile Internet service if they reside within a 4G coverage area.
“High Speed Fusion Internet service will provide customers in these 13 tower locations with more than twice the speed that was possible with our former WBBI service,” said SaskTel president and CEO Ron Styles, in the news release. “We were the first to offer this service in North America and based on initial feedback we have received, we are very confident that customers will be happy with the upgraded service.”
