REGINA – SaskTel has launched a new streaming video clip service for its mobile customers.
Provided by QuickPlay Media, streaming video will allow SaskTel cellular customers to instantly watch the latest in news, weather, sports and entertainment highlights as well as music videos and movie trailers. The content will be refreshed regularly by a wide selection of broadcast channels including CBC, MuchMusic, Tribute, Comedy Time and others.
“We’re extremely pleased to offer our customers the latest form of mobile entertainment and information that can be accessed anytime, anywhere,” said Diana Milenkovic, SaskTel’s senior vice-president, marketing and mobility, in a release.
SaskTel Streaming Video Clip Service will offer unlimited anytime viewing for $10 per month and includes an unlimited mobile browser subscription. Video content is streamed directly to the phone with no need to download content, providing a better viewing experience, says SaskTel.
The service will initially be available on the Samsung Jive (a920) handset, with new compatible models becoming available in the future.
“We are thrilled to extend our streaming video clip service to SaskTel cellular customers,” said Raja Khanna, chief creative officer and cofounder of QuickPlay Media. “Since we have begun to offer streaming services to the Canadian carriers we have seen a significant increase in the amount of video people watch on their phones.”
