REGINA – SaskTel has upgraded its internet speeds in more rural areas of the province, announcing Monday that its interNET Extended 25 service is now available in 18 additional communities.
interNET Extended 25 provides download speeds up of to 25 Mbps, the fastest SaskTel has ever offered in rural areas, and includes unlimited usage and in-home Wi-Fi.
Effective immediately, the service is available to residents and businesses in Abernethy, Allan, Broadview, Colonsay, Drake, Guernsey, Hepburn, Jansen, Laird, Landis, Leask, Lebret, Maryfield, Meacham, Osler, Viscount, Wapella, and Young.
These Internet upgrades are part of SaskTel’s commitment to invest $301 million of capital in Saskatchewan in 2018/2019 and more than $1.4 billion through 2018-2023.
“SaskTel continues to make tremendous progress rolling out their new and faster rural internet service,” said Don Morgan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel, in the news release. “In only a few short months, SaskTel has managed to expand this new service to over 60 rural communities, greatly enhancing the internet service available to thousands of Saskatchewan families and businesses.”
