SaskTel introduces prepaid 4G wireless service

REGINA – SaskTel said Monday that it is offering prepaid service available on its 4G network.

Prepaid 4G service is now available in Saskatchewan only. Customers can place and receive calls and text messages anywhere in Canada or the United States. They cannot make international calls or send international text messages (from Saskatchewan to locations outside of Canada and the U.S.), however, they can receive international calls and text messages. Roaming outside Saskatchewan will be available in 2012 once the company has finalized its roaming agreements.

Customers on the 4G network will now have access to the same prepaid voice plans that were previously only available on its CDMA network, though SaskTel is also offering new prepaid voice and data plans and data add-ons for prepaid customers on the 4G network.

“We’re proud to introduce Prepaid service on our 4G network,” said president and CEO Ron Styles, in the announcement. “SaskTel Prepaid service offers flexible voice and data plan options to customers who prefer 4G wireless service without a contract.”
