WINNIPEG – SaskTel has reached 500,000 wireless accesses in Saskatchewan.
The company announced that a SaskTel customer activated the 500,000th wireless device on their digital network in late November, and received a year of free service for the honour.
“SaskTel reached this milestone as a result of hard work and a commitment to Saskatchewan that drives the company and its employees,” said Ken Cheveldayoff, Minister of Crown Corporations in the press release. “The people of Saskatchewan have shown their support for SaskTel and we’ll continue to ensure they receive superior coverage and great customer service from their communications company.”
SaskTel introduced cellular telephone service in 1989, and digital cellular service in 1998. SaskTel digital cellular service is currently available to 96 percent of the population of the province.
