SaskTel expands cell coverage


SASKATOON – Crown Corp. SaskTel today announced improved CDMA digital cellular coverage in the SIAST Kelsey Campus area of Saskatoon; at Craven; and along Highway 1 between Maple Creek and Tompkins, Saskatchewan.

Customers in Saskatoon can expect improved in-building coverage in and around the SIAST Kelsey Campus area while customers in Craven can expect improved coverage in town and at the Craven Country Jamboree site. And with the addition of a new tower site at Sidewood, customers will see improved coverage along Highway 1 between Tompkins and Maple Creek.

"SaskTel understands that reliable coverage is critical for many of our customers," SaskTel president and CEO Robert Watson said in a release. "Digital cellular service… provides wireless customers with access to e-mail, corporate databases and the internet. We will continue to evaluate the network to provide our cellular customers with the latest wireless technologies over the largest wireless network in the province."

SaskTel has more than 550,000 wireless customers.
