REGINA – SaskTel has signed a roaming agreement with AT&T that will allow customers to stay connected while traveling south of the border.

The company is offering daily rates of $5/day for 300MB of data and $3/day for unlimited voice calling any time they travel to the U.S, through its Roam & Relax Travel Packages.  Customers may also add on a package of minutes, text messages, and data.

To opt-in to Roam & Relax U.S. daily rates, customers must text "Join" to 400400, and then reply "Yes" to confirm.

“This roaming agreement with AT&T will enable SaskTel customers to enjoy 4G LTE wireless speeds while travelling in the U.S.,” said president and CEO Ron Styles, in the news release.  “SaskTel is committed to delivering superior international coverage to our customers and the resulting faster mobile data speeds will provide improved performance to our customers roaming across the U.S.”

SaskTel also issued a reminder of its plan to turn down its Code division multiple access (CDMA) network on July 5, 2017, as it shifts its focus to 4G/LTE.

SaskTel’s roaming partners have confirmed they will be shutting down or beginning to decommission their respective CDMA networks on January 31, which will result in customers losing coverage when leaving Saskatchewan if they continue using their CDMA device.  More information about the CDMA turndown and which devices are impacted is available here.
