SaskTel boosts wireless capacity in 19 communities

REGINA – SaskTel said today 4G LTE bandwidth capacity improvements are on the way for 19 towers primarily serving rural areas in central and eastern Saskatchewan.

The company said in a release it will install additional LTE carriers on each of the towers, increasing their LTE data capacity by up to 100%. “This added capacity will ensure that customers can continue to fully utilize their smartphones without being slowed down by network congestion,” reads the release.

Installation work begins on the first of the towers in early December with the all upgrades expected to be complete by April 2020.

The tower locations being upgraded are:

Antelope
Aylesbury
Blumenhof
Broadview (two upgrades)
Canora
Craik
Eatonia
Englefeld
Englishman Lake
Gainsborough
Goodwater (two upgrades)
Invermay
Lampman
Lanigan
Maidstone
Melfort (two upgrades)
Rosetown (two upgrades)
Tisdale
