The alternative telecommunications carrier tracked the average number of monthly minutes residents spend on long distance calls and found Saskatchewanians talk an average of 326 minutes per month, 44 minutes more than residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, which came in second at 282 minutes.

Canada’s 10 provinces ranked as follows:

1. Saskatchewan – 326 minutes
2. Newfoundland and Labrador – 282 minutes
3. Prince Edward Island – 265 minutes
4. Ontario – 254 minutes
5. British Columbia – 237 minutes
6. Nova Scotia – 233 minutes
7. Alberta – 231 minutes
8. New Brunswick – 175 minutes
9. Quebec – 171 minutes
10. Manitoba – 168 minutes

The findings are based on an analysis of the usage of Primus’ long distance customers across Canada. Long distance calls include domestic calls as well as out-of-country calls.
